On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I extend my warmest welcome to all fencers and officials for participating in the IWAS Wheelchair Fencing Grand Prix – Hong Kong 2014.
This year we will see athletes striving for excellence in order to book their places in the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games and that is a very exciting step not only for them, but also for us at the Organizing Committee. We are extremely delighted that a record breaking 158 fencers from 24 countries and territories are in Hong Kong taking part in the finale wheelchair fencing event of the year. The Organizing Committee is endeavored to facilitate the best competition platform for athletes to perform their best during the 4 days competitions.
The hosting of the Wheelchair Fencing Grand Prix – Hong Kong 2014 is not possible without the enthusiastic support from the Hong Kong Government as well as the local community. I would take this opportunity to thank all supporting organizations, technical officials, and volunteers for their contributions and commitment to ensure the success of the event.
